A Few Of My Favorite Things

So this entry isn't really about a specific craft.  This week I'm trying to focus on positivity, and so, to brighten my day, these are a few of my favorite things to reflect upon: 1) the satisfaction I feel in knowing that something I have made is truly enjoyed by the person receiving it.  Whether that be a card, a trinket box, or a food dish. 2) the fun of curling up on my couch with a blanket and all the lights off except for the Christmas tree.  so peaceful. 3) the peace that never ceases to amaze me while I'm singing in worship 4)I may not have what some consider a lot of friends, but I'm completely blessed with the friends that I do have.  Quality, not quantity. 5) Where I was in my life 3 years ago and where I am now.  What a difference.  Thank you God that I'm never going back there.

So Thankful!

I just love love love the French Foliage set from stampin up!  I debated for a while whether or not I was going to get it, but I'm so glad I finally did.  This is your standard A2 size card.  I just cut a piece of Crumb Cake card stock, colored the stamps with miscellaneous markers (not by SU) and randomly stamped the images.  Once I had the look i desired, I cut a strip of blue cardstock and ran it through my scalloped edge punch.  Simple and easy!  I have a ton of buttons so I just picked one out that I liked, ran some SU twine through it, and put it on the brown slab I had popped up on dimensionals.  The sentiment is from the SU Chit Chat Rub Ons.  The picture below is basically a copy of the image that I put on the inside of the card.  I feel like it definitely completes the look!

Christmas in August

I finally started my Christmas cards today. I made three, but this is the only finished one. I fashioned this off of a CAS challenge. Everything here is Stampin Up except the red card stock. Baja Breeze, chocolate chip, always artichoke, scalloped edge punch, chit chat rub ons, and retired holiday paper.

Updates

So much has happened since my last post! Switched departments and job titles at work, been sick, took vacation, crafted for hours, lol! I really wish my camera took better pictures of the things I've done! grr. these pictures just don't seem to do them justice! The card above was made with the New In Colors, Great friend butterfly stamp, and an Inkadinkado stamp. Once I receive my new ribbon in the mail, I'll be replacing the yellow strip. I'm so excited! I made this card for a sketch challenge on SCS.

Clean and Simple Blank Inside

The bird stamp comes from Inkadinkado. All I did was take a cream colored card stock, stamp him in brown, and chalk brown around the edges. I thought the sky blue made it pop. Chocolate brown satin ribbon finished the look, but now I think maybe I should have gone without the ribbon and just put a branch.

Introduction

I've wanted to start a blog for quite a while now and finally decided to sit down and do it. Originally I was just going to make this a blog on the cards I make, but I think I'm going to incorporate scrapping as well. I only recently discovered the art of card making and now I'm hooked. So, I look forward to getting feedback and sharing with my fellow crafters!
