2019 Jewel of the Seas Greek Isles Cruise - Rhodes Part 2

 We had seen the sign for the Acropolis of Rhodes so decided to make our way in that direction.

We were now out of the residential area and walking along the coast

We saw several taxis parked at this spot so we decided to walk up. Turns out it’s an amazing overlook

We continued walking along the coast and fiancé says “here. take a video”....I should have known...little boy at heart gave my heart an attack....

A little more walking and we came to the Acropolis.

We made our way out of the park and decided to head back to the old city as we were getting hungry and HOT. We stopped at a small market and got something to drink while we walked

After walking around some more we decided to make our way in the direction of the ship and windmills

We were back on the ship at 2:30 and changed into swimsuits so we’d stay out of our room...we knew if we hung out too long we’d fall asleep and then would have a hard time waking up the next morning. we sat in the solarium, Nate snacked, and then we found a quiet corner where Nate dozed in a chair while I read a bit. Around 7 we went back to the room to change for dinner in the WJ.

 I went to guest services and left the form requesting 8:45 disembark in civi but the agent let me know we could walk off with our bags whenever we wanted before 9:30am.

Greek Isles 2019 Formal Night & Chania, Crete

 Time for our first formal night! Once Nate’s clothes showed up he did a quick change and we were ready to go.     According to wiki: Chania is the second largest city in Crete and dates back to 1100BC. The occupied history of the city is rather sad and worth the read...especially the section on World War II....which hit home for us because Nate’s grandmother is Jewish and was forced to leave Austria for China as a teen. We got up at 7 and just caught the sunrise as we went to breakfast   The harbor reminded me a lot of Cabo mixed with a little Malta to be honest.     After finishing our meal and taking advantage of the restaurant’s WC we continued our walking tour through the streets of Chania. We would definitely go back to Crete. It's very different from any other island we have visited and is saturated in history. Ireland Day 6: Blarney Castle and on to Cork

It took me around 6 months to plan my trip and a year's worth of hard work and saving, but I poured my heart into each and every moment of planning.  And now, there are only 2 days left. I can't believe it.  It has all been incredibly worth it. We left the Randles Court this morning a little after 8 and decided to just hit the road for Blarney Castle.  I had previously planned on us eating lunch in Blarney at the Muskerry Arms.  We pulled into Blarney around 10am and decided to just eat brunch there instead.  We had the restaurant practically to ourselves which was nice. A continental breakfast of fruits and cereals and brown bread was provided and then we were able to order off the hot menu in addition.  Both of us ordered omelets...I didn't get a picture of the omelet because I was too hungry and wolfed it down.  The brown bread here was FAR superior to the brown bread of yesterday and the omelet was delicious. I would definitely recommend this rest...

A Few Of My Favorite Things

So this entry isn't really about a specific craft.  This week I'm trying to focus on positivity, and so, to brighten my day, these are a few of my favorite things to reflect upon: 1) the satisfaction I feel in knowing that something I have made is truly enjoyed by the person receiving it.  Whether that be a card, a trinket box, or a food dish. 2) the fun of curling up on my couch with a blanket and all the lights off except for the Christmas tree.  so peaceful. 3) the peace that never ceases to amaze me while I'm singing in worship 4)I may not have what some consider a lot of friends, but I'm completely blessed with the friends that I do have.  Quality, not quantity. 5) Where I was in my life 3 years ago and where I am now.  What a difference.  Thank you God that I'm never going back there.
