2019 Jewel of the Seas Greek Isles Cruise - Athens Acropolis & Parthenon

I can’t even tell you how amazing this day was...Remember how getting off the ship early in Mykonos & Rhodes worked out so well for us?

 Remember last year when we paid 55euros for our taxi? Yeah as a I researched this I realized we got scammed. LOL. Every person I read said they only paid 35 for theirs. So I was ready to put up a fight as we walked out to the drivers. Nate just lets me stand back and do my thing when it comes to these situations (like getting the taxi in Santorini).

Well no argument needed because the rate we were given was 35. I was relieved.

In the taxi driving through Piraeus:

We got to the Acropolis quickly though he dropped us at a different entrance than I remembered. After a short scramble to find the ticket counter we were in!

Oh my gosh y’all!!!! We got there at the PERFECT time....We walked in just as the changing of the guard began and I already had my camera going so got it all on film.

We did buy the 30 euro a piece tickets again and I wish we hadn’t because we ended up doing different things this time. So that’s 20 euros we could have used on something else. Oh well....the things we know now.

Greek Isles 2019 Formal Night & Chania, Crete

 Time for our first formal night! Once Nate’s clothes showed up he did a quick change and we were ready to go.     According to wiki: Chania is the second largest city in Crete and dates back to 1100BC. The occupied history of the city is rather sad and worth the read...especially the section on World War II....which hit home for us because Nate’s grandmother is Jewish and was forced to leave Austria for China as a teen. We got up at 7 and just caught the sunrise as we went to breakfast   The harbor reminded me a lot of Cabo mixed with a little Malta to be honest.     After finishing our meal and taking advantage of the restaurant’s WC we continued our walking tour through the streets of Chania. We would definitely go back to Crete. It's very different from any other island we have visited and is saturated in history. Ireland Day 6: Blarney Castle and on to Cork

It took me around 6 months to plan my trip and a year's worth of hard work and saving, but I poured my heart into each and every moment of planning.  And now, there are only 2 days left. I can't believe it.  It has all been incredibly worth it. We left the Randles Court this morning a little after 8 and decided to just hit the road for Blarney Castle.  I had previously planned on us eating lunch in Blarney at the Muskerry Arms.  We pulled into Blarney around 10am and decided to just eat brunch there instead.  We had the restaurant practically to ourselves which was nice. A continental breakfast of fruits and cereals and brown bread was provided and then we were able to order off the hot menu in addition.  Both of us ordered omelets...I didn't get a picture of the omelet because I was too hungry and wolfed it down.  The brown bread here was FAR superior to the brown bread of yesterday and the omelet was delicious. I would definitely recommend this rest...

A Few Of My Favorite Things

So this entry isn't really about a specific craft.  This week I'm trying to focus on positivity, and so, to brighten my day, these are a few of my favorite things to reflect upon: 1) the satisfaction I feel in knowing that something I have made is truly enjoyed by the person receiving it.  Whether that be a card, a trinket box, or a food dish. 2) the fun of curling up on my couch with a blanket and all the lights off except for the Christmas tree.  so peaceful. 3) the peace that never ceases to amaze me while I'm singing in worship 4)I may not have what some consider a lot of friends, but I'm completely blessed with the friends that I do have.  Quality, not quantity. 5) Where I was in my life 3 years ago and where I am now.  What a difference.  Thank you God that I'm never going back there.
